March 4, 2015

Signs of spring are beginning to appear...at least in Georgia.  I saw these daffodils on the way to church on Sunday morning and a big smile came on my face.

Weather we see the signs of spring or the date on a calendar, this winter will soon be behind us.  Have you ever  noticed that spring puts a spring in our steps?

Cheer up, things could be worse.  So the old codger cheered up and "sho nuff," they got worse!

Have you ever wondered what your old girlfriend from high school or college looks like today?

The words of John Debrine ring in my ears...along with tinnitus.

"I would rather go through life not having what I want than go through life having what I don't want."

Back to reality... this is what greets you as you enter into Jackie's Too restaurant at Perkin's Cove in Ogunquit, ME.  We eat there about every time we walk the Marginal Way.  Here is a view from our table.

The next two pictures are of Perkin's Cove.

I just do not know if I am coming or going... and that is no CROC!

or is it???

Compare the pictures of our back yard taken a week apart.

And this is what the day brings forth...

"See, I told you!  Global Warming is Real..."

As an Al Gore impressionist, I probably should stick to my day job...

Where is that mangy Groundhog?

February 18, 2015

Yesterday, we could REMEMBER enjoying beautiful weather.  Today, it is back to REALITY.

It rains a lot in Georgia and there is a tendency to complain about it.  To which I reply, "At least we do not have to shovel it."

The northeast is knocking on the door of setting all-time records for snow fall.  The ice that we are experiencing has its own set of issues, but it does go away quickly; sometimes.  Snow...it last all Winter.  Bah, Humbug!

The first two pictures are of a birch tree.  The last two pictures are of a tree in our back yard.  You are able to see the difference that ice makes when it coats trees.  In a stretch of less than one mile on Georgia Route 20, there were at least 10 trees and or large tree limbs that had to be cleared from the road.  We have a large limb, from our neighbor's pine tree, laying in our back year.

On the bright side... there is definitely beauty in snow and ice.  We just have to look for it beyond the immediate.

Remember when...

"Those were the days my friend.  I thought they'd never end."

It won't be long... Spring is coming!

February 10, 2015

This is a 1931 Ford Roadster.  It is For Sale and is parked off of Post Road in Cumming.  If you have $32,500.00, you can own it.

I will try to retake the picture due to the shadow on the front grill.  I need to take it later in the afternoon or placing a reflector in front of the auto would add the necessary lighting.

The next photo meet in our subdivision has 'Antiques' as the theme.  Anything that is pre-1940.  I thought of a 'selfie,' but realized that I did not qualify...yet.
