January 29, 2012

I took my camera on a walk on the Big Creek Greenway today and was pleasantly surprised to get four, very different shots.

The first was of a squirrel munching on some berries in a tree.

Then there was a Black Vulture pecking on a carcass.

I came across this tree that was twisted.  I think that someone twisted it as a sapling.

The last picture is of a chubby, but hungry beaver.

Here are three of the birds in the backyard today.  There was a "Woody Woodpecker,' which is one of my favorites, but it did not land on this feeder.

I set up a camera with a remote and shot the pictures from the kitchen table.  The lighting is off because I did not set the 'White Balance' on the camera before shooting.  It was set from the last time that I used that camera.  What makes it all the devastating is that I have a reminder stuck to the top of the camera to reminded to check the 'White Balance."

The first bird is an Eastern Bluebird, the second is a Brown Thrasher, and the third is a Cardinal.
