Yesterday, we could REMEMBER enjoying beautiful weather. Today, it is back to REALITY.
It rains a lot in Georgia and there is a tendency to complain about it. To which I reply, "At least we do not have to shovel it."
The northeast is knocking on the door of setting all-time records for snow fall. The ice that we are experiencing has its own set of issues, but it does go away quickly; sometimes. Snow...it last all Winter. Bah, Humbug!
The first two pictures are of a birch tree. The last two pictures are of a tree in our back yard. You are able to see the difference that ice makes when it coats trees. In a stretch of less than one mile on Georgia Route 20, there were at least 10 trees and or large tree limbs that had to be cleared from the road. We have a large limb, from our neighbor's pine tree, laying in our back year.
On the bright side... there is definitely beauty in snow and ice. We just have to look for it beyond the immediate.

Remember when...
"Those were the days my friend. I thought they'd never end."
It won't be long... Spring is coming!

This is a 1931 Ford Roadster. It is For Sale and is parked off of Post Road in Cumming. If you have $32,500.00, you can own it.
I will try to retake the picture due to the shadow on the front grill. I need to take it later in the afternoon or placing a reflector in front of the auto would add the necessary lighting.
The next photo meet in our subdivision has 'Antiques' as the theme. Anything that is pre-1940. I thought of a 'selfie,' but realized that I did not qualify...yet.

I took my camera on a walk on the Big Creek Greenway today and was pleasantly surprised to get four, very different shots.
The first was of a squirrel munching on some berries in a tree.

Then there was a Black Vulture pecking on a carcass.
I came across this tree that was twisted. I think that someone twisted it as a sapling.
The last picture is of a chubby, but hungry beaver.

Here are three of the birds in the backyard today. There was a "Woody Woodpecker,' which is one of my favorites, but it did not land on this feeder.
I set up a camera with a remote and shot the pictures from the kitchen table. The lighting is off because I did not set the 'White Balance' on the camera before shooting. It was set from the last time that I used that camera. What makes it all the devastating is that I have a reminder stuck to the top of the camera to reminded to check the 'White Balance."
The first bird is an Eastern Bluebird, the second is a Brown Thrasher, and the third is a Cardinal.

I walk on the Big Creek Walkway and took my camera the past two days. This Winter has been exceptionally dreary in Georgia. It seems that we have had fewer sunny days.
These pictures are a contrast in dreariness. These is no green this time of year on the 'Greenway.' Much of the walkway was flooded recently and the first picture is after the water subsided. If I did it in Black and White, it would remind me of the "Petrified Forest." I can hear Humphrey Bogart now...
The next picture reveals what can happen when one looks around; or up. A dead tree, but the composition allows for some beauty to show through.
I read somewhere that as you are taking a picture of a subject, to look around to see what else would be of interest and to move around to take a picture from a different angle/perspective.
